Shizuoka Genmaicha
$4.90 – $34.00
Origin: Shizuoka, Japan
Genmaicha traces its origins back to the 15th century when a servant named Genmai accidentally dropped brown rice into his samurai master’s cup of green tea. Despite his anger, the master decided to taste the blend and was pleasantly surprised by its harmonious flavors. Impressed, he spared Genmai’s life and named the tea “genmaicha” in his honor. Crafted with care in Shizuoka, our top-quality Genmaicha combines green tea with roasted rice to deliver a rich and nutty flavor profile. With its fuller body and enhanced sweetness, our Genmaicha is a delightful choice for daily enjoyment and pairs perfectly with meals.

I was so surprised when I opened the bag, I am a regular buyer of genmaicha tea from various brands and this one is generously loaded with toasted rice! Immediately I can tell that this tea seller takes their flavors very seriously and true enough the tea is completely natural, light and crisp, toasty and nutty with a complete absence of artificial flavors. This is my first purchase coming across Craftsman Tea online. If their other teas are just as good I will definitely continue supporting them wholeheartedly.

A beautifully refined authentic Shizuoka Genmaicha with an aroma that is a perfect blend of roasted rice and fresh, green tea.
Each sip is rich and comforting. The green tea is light and grassy, with a mild sweetness that’s not overwhelming. But what really stands out is the roasted rice—those crispy, nutty grains add a deep, almost savory flavor that balances the tea beautifully. The combination of the slightly sweet, vegetal notes from the tea and the warm, toasty undertones from the rice is the best!
Smooth and light, and low in stringency. Suitable for anyone who may not be a fan of stronger green teas.

What can I say but another great tea from craftsman tea. Try it yourself and feel the quality.

This tea is just beautiful to look at. A gorgeous combination of green, brown and white. The taste is amazing and better than what you would expect from Genmaicha tea. Surely a high quality premium tea, I enjoy this very very much!

I stock up on this as it is the perfect tea to serve to friends, as even those who would normally not prefer green tea will find this enjoyable. I usually host my friends with sushi takeaway, and yakisoba. This tea perfectly rounds up the Japanese flavors. Matcha is too troublesome so this one in teabags is most convenient.

Having drank genmaicha rooibos only from sushi teh and genki sushi, this gave me a tea culture shock 🤣. It is so fragrant and refined, feel very atas drinking this. I bought some for my friend for her birthday too and hope she likes it! Now I can’t wait for new order of other tea flavors to arrive!! Super good tea from craftsman tea!!!

A nice change from my usual favourites of Tie Guanyin and Butter Oolong. I like my green teas floral and fragrant, this one is toasty and fragrant in a different but nice way. The green tea base is well selected with fresh vegetal notes that go well with the genmai. For those who like a green tea that is milder this one works.

This tea is still okay but too mild for me. I prefer the Chinese traditional green teas like Jasmine green tea, which are more sharp and strongly floral fragrant.
